common questions

Your body makes earwax to protect your ear canal skin and kill germs. It is absolutely
normal to have it. Most people do not need require special care or attention to it, the best advise for one is to prevent routine use of Q-tips (cotton buds)

Cotton swabs can remove some wax, but they often just push the wax deeper
into the ear and may worsen an impaction or injure the ear canal.

The procedures used to remove earwax should not cause any pain, some patients may experience a mild discomfort.

It may help in certain situations to soften the wax. However, in severely impacted ear wax a visit to your ENT specialist is needed to remove the obstruction.

There is no standard duration for preventing earwax removal. Most people
do not have to unless too much wax develops casuing discomfort and hearing loss.
